	Hi Jane! Abortion in Guatemala is heavily restricted and penalized. It is legal only in cases where the pregnant person's life is at risk. A 2022 government decision further criminalized abortions by increasing the penalties for undergoing, aiding or promoting access to termination of pregnancy
