Population Connection Demands End to ICE Reign of Terror

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Population Connection unequivocally condemns the heinous acts being conducted by the Trump administration against people in the United States, regardless of their citizenship or status.

We fully support all nonviolent actions and protests against violations of human rights.

We believe that there is credible evidence for prosecutors that should lead to criminal charges being filed against those militarized federal officers and higher-ups who have unleashed a reign of terror in Minneapolis and other places across our country.

While every nation has a right to secure borders, each also has a moral and legal obligation to respect all human rights. The Trump administration and its agents are violating the rights of citizens and noncitizens alike through intimidation, assault, illegal incarceration, mass deportation, and cold-blooded murder.

Given the grossly inhumane misdeeds being perpetrated by the Trump administration, Congress must abolish ICE and rebuild from the ground up our governmental systems and structures for humanely managing our borders. We need a completely new structure which recognizes that the overwhelming majority of those who seek entry into the United States are decent people and that every person must be afforded equal protection under the law.

We stand proudly with all those who are struggling to defend their neighbors against domestic fascism.
