Organizers Kept Up the #Fight4HER Over the Summer With Community Events

Dobbs decision anniversary
On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court eliminated the nationwide constitutional right to abortion. The Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade, marked a deadly turn in the uphill battle for reproductive rights.
Four years later, our field organizers in Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire, and North Carolina commemorated the day the Dobbs decision ended decades of reproductive freedom.
Our Las Vegas field organizer, Kyle DeVasier, organized a town hall alongside five local partners, gaining the attention of local media outlets including the Las Vegas Sun News and KLAS.
In North Carolina, our field organizer Richeline Cadet facilitated a community roundtable discussion at the Chapel Hill Public Library, where attendees wrote over 50 thank-you cards that were later hand delivered to abortion providers serving the Research Triangle area.
In front of the Old Main building at the University of Arizona, our Tucson field organizer, Kat Stratford, hosted a vigil to honor those impacted by the Dobbs decision. She opened the floor for community members to share their grief, experiences, and hopes for the future.
Across the country, our New Hampshire field organizer, Kim Ip, posted up in front of the state house in Concord to raise awareness about the consequences of Dobbs.
Pride events across the country
In June, #Fight4HER came together, as always, to celebrate Pride Month. The Trump-Vance administration constantly attacks LGBTQ+ rights, from restricting access to gender-affirming care to policing local school districts’ curriculum materials for dozens of phrases including “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” and “family structure.”
In Washington, DC, as tens of thousands of people gathered for Pride festivities, we set up our booth at the annual Capital Pride Festival. We talked to hundreds of festivalgoers about the work ahead to defend LGBTQ+ and reproductive rights, and the steps they could take to support life-saving legislation.
The following weekend, we attended Out! Raleigh Pride in North Carolina and Manchester Pride in New Hampshire, extending the fight against the Trump-Vance administration’s detrimental policies.
Across the three Pride events, nearly 700 people took our pledge to #Fight4HER!
