International Women’s Day

Presentation with Dandelion Africa

The 2025 International Women’s Day theme was “Accelerate Action for gender equality.” Empowering women and girls is one of the most effective sustainable development levers, yet women’s rights sadly remain severely underfunded. We must change that!

Wendo Sahar, Founder and Executive Director of Dandelion Africa, joined us for a virtual presentation. Dandelion Africa is a Kenyan, women-led NGO focused on women’s health and economic empowerment. Their programs focus on women’s and girls’ reproductive health, maternal child health, economic livelihoods, and advocacy on gender-based violence through men’s engagement.

Wendo has over a decade of experience in grassroots sustainable programs rooted in community-driven solutions. Through Dandelion, they have established over 50 reproductive and maternal safe spaces, built three health centers, and built three libraries!

Presentation Date: March 6th, 2025
