Panel Discussion for UN’s CPD58

What’s the story with family planning? How women’s empowerment, reproductive freedom, and storytelling build healthier, more sustainable communities

We’re marking the 58th session of the UN Commission on Population and Development with a virtual side event! Joining us for a 90-minute panel discussion are conservation experts, compelling storytellers, and population stabilization advocates.

Reproductive health and rights and bodily autonomy are key to advancing SDG 3, Good Health and Well-being. During the panel, speakers will showcase how their organizations’ work helps remove barriers to family planning and empowers women and girls, leading to healthier, more prosperous communities. Improving access to reproductive healthcare also brings the added benefit of slowing population growth, allowing for more sustainable natural resource management, conservation of vital ecosystems, and greater climate change resilience.

Date: Thursday, April 10th
Time: 12 pm ET/9 am PT

Explore Our Resources

A core part of our mission is informing the public on population trends, reproductive health, and environmental sustainability. As we navigate a new administration, the need for accurate information is more important than ever—especially in a media landscape saturated with persistent misconceptions about population issues and pronatalist messaging.

Quarterly Magazine

Population Connection magazine is our quarterly publication, distributed to our networks of 40,000 supporters, every member of Congress, and about 3,000 public and university libraries.

In the wake of the Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, rates of sterilization among both men and women have increased, and wait lists for vasectomy consultations have grown to six months in some places. Read about some of the people behind the rising prevalence of people seeking permanent contraception in our March issue.
